- ACUPRESSURE POINTS FOR:

a) Shock
b) "Triple Heater Meridian" - Respiration, Circulation, Digestion
& Reproduction
c) Pain
- WORK THE EARS: With a firm pressure do Ear Slides on each
ear from base to tip to address several hundred acupressure points. Squeeze
the ear tip before releasing to work the ACUPRESSURE POINT FOR SHOCK.
Use TTEAM™ circles on the "Triple Heater Meridian" – the line
of points around the base of the ear (small hollows that your finger tips
fit into). These points affect circulation, respiration, digestion and reproduction.
Return to work on the ears often.
- ACUPRESSURE POINT FOR PAIN: Use TTEAM™ circles, or
rub the area between the lower edges of the nostrils to relieve pain. Work
this area for 1 to 3 minutes. Repeat often.
- ACUPRESSURE POINT FOR GAS RELEASE: Use your thumb to rub
the hollow under the tail, above the anus. Work 1 minute or less. Repeat often.
- TTEAM™ BELLY LIFTS: Two people, one on each side
of the horse, use a towel (or joined hands) under the belly to lift, hold
20 to 60 seconds, and release slowly. Start behind the elbow. After
each lift and release, move toward the rear about an inch. As you approach
the flank, work gently, because this area is often tight and distended in
colic. Repeat a set of lifts one or more times before returning to another
step.
REPEAT THESE STEPS OFTEN, AND IN ANY ORDER.
TTEAM™ WORK ON THE EARS AND POINT FOR PAIN (#4)
IS USEFUL FOR ALL ILL, INJURED OR EXHAUSTED HORSES.
WHEN IN DOUBT, WORK THE EARS.
