Therapeutic Touch is a modern interpretation of the ancient art of energetic healing. Developed in the early 1970’s by Dolores Krieger Ph.D., NYU Professor Emerita and Dora Kunz, it was first taught as a graduate course in New York University’s School of Nursing. Now it is taught in over 80 universities and colleges in North America and in over 60 countries in the world.A growing formal research base indicates that TT induces a very rapid relaxation response, reduces pain, speeds healing, supports the immune system, and reduces stress.

A Therapeutic Touch treatment lasts between 5 and 20 minutes. The practitioner works in a deeply centered (peaceful, meditative) state and uses his/her hands to assess the energy field of the recipient. Gentle passes with the hands few inches above the receiver’s body helps to modulate and support a normal flow of energy through the field. Very little actual touch is involved. The receiver remains clothed and may either sit or lie down for the treatment. A 20 minute rest period after the treatment helps the field to process the work.
